Do you add photos on a regular basis? Yes. We add photos as they are taken. Click on "Newest Photos" to see the latest photos that we have posted.
Do you offer refunds? On the digital downloads, no. Once your purchase is made we can not offer a refund. The reason for this policy is because we offer full access to our entire digital collection of photos and, as such, there is no way for our products to be returned. In the case of a physical product such as Mugs, mouse pads, prints etc these items cannot be re-sold; therefore returns will only be accepted in situations where the item is defective. Please be aware that if a refund is offered you will be responsible for all shipping and handling fees.
Are there any restrictions on my use of the Medicine Hat News Photostore photos that I download? Yes. While Medicine Hat News Photostore offers great freedoms and a wide ranges of uses, we do not allow the redistribution of our photos, or allow the use of our photos within products that are mass distributed in any type of archive format.
Is account sharing allowed? No, sharing an account is no different than distributing our materials to others. Individual accounts must be purchased by your friends and colleagues.
Once I make a purchase, how long does it take to get my purchase. In the case of downloads, once the payment has been approved you will be able to download your purchase. An email will be sent to the email address you provided to let you know that you can download the photo. You must download the photo within 2 days or you will loose the download.
In the case of a product, the payment has to be approved first and then the order will be placed with the print and product company. They require approximately 3 - 5 business days for shipping.
If I purchase a subscription, can I download any of the photos on the site? No, not all of the photos are available to subscribers. You may only download images that have been uploaded by Medicine Hat News. Images that are uploaded by photographers are not available for subscription download at this time.
Can I submit photos to sell? Yes you can but you will need to first create a photographer account and then each photo you upload must be approved by the sites administrator.
How do I ensure my photo will be of the proper size for a print? Please also remember that in order for your photos to qualify to be sold as canvases you must submit the photo as 300 DPI and the highest Pixel width. Here is a simple equation that should give you an idea of what prints your photo will qualify for: (pixel width) X (dpi) = (print width). Do the same for the length and you will have an idea of what print sizes your photo will work for.
What sizes do you recommend for your Prints and other products? Click here to view a pdf of the sizes.
How do I ensure that people will see my photos when there are so many on the site? To ensure that people see your photos, make sure that you fill in the Keyword field with not only words that describe the photo like flower or sunset but also things like photographer name, where the photo was taken, the date the photo was taken and as many variations of those words as you can think of.
If I upload a photo as a photographer, can I change the default price? Yes, but the price you set your photo at only applies to the downloads and not to the print or products. That price is already set. Please note that you must first submit your photo for approval then you must submit it again for a change on your asking price.
When do the photographers get paid for the photos they sell? Photographers get paid for the photos they sold at the end of each month. Please do remember that if you chose to be paid by cheque then you will have to allow delivery time by mail. This is why we recommend you set up a Paypal account because the payment will be instantaneous.
